sorta nervous to post this, but i really hope i can help anyone looking into short term as an option for mental health treatment. disclaimer: this is just my personal experience with newport.

update (2022) : i say in this video a few times about how it could help some people. i somewhat take that back. it is possible that a few people could benefit from this, but in general, no one should be treated like a criminal for being depressed or having a substance use disorder.
around 15:50, i talk about not sending kids away if it isn't their fault. i talk about how if you are acting out, that is when it should be taken into consideration. i also take this back. it is NOT a choice when you have a substance use disorder, are an alcoholic, or have an eating disorder. no one should be sent away. i was sixteen when i filmed this and i apologize for the ignorance at the time.
