BIO SYSTEMS TECHNOLOGY FINAL EXAM PAPER PREPARATION
Hello my dear students I have decided to Final Exam Paper Preparation. This video will help you to answer the BST FINAL EXAM PAPER for GCE A/L exam with the highest number of correct answers. It is my hope that this discussion will guide you to face the final exam paper with more confidence. For your convenience, a video explains a past term paper & past paper, and you can see that question in the video. I hope you can turn this process into a great success by commenting on the lessons that need to be discussed specifically in the future.
THANKYOU
REGARDS

Wastewater treatment is the process of converting wastewater - water that is no longer suitable for its initial use - into an effluent that can be returned to the water cycle with minimal impact on the environment or reused. It involves a series of physical, chemical, and biological processes to remove contaminants and pollutants from the water before it is discharged or reused.
Here's an overview of the typical steps involved in wastewater treatment:
Preliminary Treatment: This initial stage involves screening to remove large objects such as sticks, rags, and plastic that could damage equipment or interfere with subsequent treatment processes. After screening, grit chambers are used to settle out heavy inorganic solids like sand and gravel.
Primary Treatment: During this phase, the wastewater undergoes sedimentation to remove suspended solids and organic matter. In primary sedimentation tanks, gravity allows the heavier particles to settle to the bottom as sludge, while lighter particles float to the surface and are skimmed off as scum.
Secondary Treatment (Biological Treatment): In this stage, biological processes are employed to further break down organic matter and remove pathogens. Common methods include activated sludge process, trickling filters, and rotating biological contactors. Microorganisms consume organic pollutants, converting them into carbon dioxide, water, and biomass
Tertiary Treatment (Advanced Treatment): Tertiary treatment is employed to further improve the quality of the effluent, particularly in terms of removing nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus, as well as pathogens. Methods include filtration, chemical precipitation, and advanced oxidation processes.
Disinfection: After the primary, secondary, and tertiary treatments, the effluent may undergo disinfection to kill any remaining pathogens. Common disinfection methods include chlorination, ultraviolet (UV) irradiation, and ozonation.
Sludge Treatment and Disposal: Throughout the treatment process, sludge is generated as a byproduct. Sludge treatment involves processes such as thickening, digestion, and dewatering to reduce its volume and stabilize its organic content. The treated sludge can then be safely disposed of, reused as fertilizer (biosolids), or incinerated.
Effluent Discharge or Reuse: Once treated, the wastewater effluent can be discharged into nearby water bodies or reused for various purposes such as irrigation, industrial processes, or even replenishing groundwater.
Wastewater treatment plays a crucial role in protecting public health, safeguarding the environment, and ensuring the sustainable use of water resources. Through continuous innovation and adherence to strict regulations, wastewater treatment facilities strive to mitigate pollution and promote waterconservation.
