For Fun's Sake Expedition of the Inside Passage, Episode 02.
As we leave civilisation and start to ease into expedition life, we are faced with our first navigational hazard as we make our way through Surge Narrows and Okisollo. The tidal flows reach such a pace here, that rapid-like conditions with standing waves and whirlpools can form.
We are hit with strong winds and big seas as we kayak through the Discovery Islands and along Johnstone Strait. Soon leaving the familiar territory of Vancouver Island and venturing into the unknown.
Nature is all around us as we have our first animal sightings as well as a close encounter with an apex predator of the Inside Passage.
