2025 Advent: An Introduction to Our "O Antiphons" Retreat

Описание: With Saint John Institute’s free online retreat on the ‘O Antiphons,’ December 17th through the 23rd, you can prepare spiritually for Christmas, without sacrificing the season’s to-do list. But what exactly are the 'O Antiphons'? Where do they come from and how can you pray with them? As preparation for the retreat, we brought in Father Francis Therese Krautter CSJ, an experienced vocalist and educator in sacred liturgical music, to have a conversation with Father Nathan and Noah, SJI’s cinematographer, about the 'O Antiphons,' the history & role of music in the church, and practical ideas for Advent traditions.

Our online retreat will start on Wednesday, December 17th, when the ‘O Antiphons’ begin in the Liturgy of the Hours. As the ‘O Antiphons’ are sung during evening prayer, videos will be sent & posted in the evenings.
