Who is Nas? The American rapper Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones, best known by his stage name Nas, is widely considered a legend in the genre. Jones' musical career started in 1989, when he began using the stage name "Nasty Nas" and recording demos for Large Professor. His father, Olu Dara, was a jazz pianist. Later, in 1991, he was included in the song "Live at the Barbeque."
