Nazwa wsi pochodzi od ław karczemnych - w 1800 roku była tu osada z karczmą.
W 1959 roku, gdy utworzono Kampinoski Park Narodowy, na jego terenie znajdowało się 71 wsi. W 1975 roku podjęto decyzję o dobrowolnych wykupach na koszt państwa i do końca 2005 wykupiono 80% gruntów.
Po wysiedlonych wsiach i osadach pozostały fundamenty domów, pozostałości piwnic i przekrzywione płoty. Na ich teren w naturalny sposób wkracza przyroda zarastając miejsca gdzie ongiś żył człowiek. Gdzieniegdzie, w szczególności na dawnych polach uprawnych posadzono las. Często natura okazała się tak żywotna, iż trudno już doszukać się pozostałości niektórych osiedli. Wiosek-widm jest w Kampinosie sporo, w większości nie figurują na mapach, ich nazwy przejęły okoliczne uroczyska, rezerwaty i szlaki. Wioska Ławy liczyła przed wykupami około 160 mieszkańców w 41 gospodarstwach. Dzisiaj pozostało po niej kilka małych domów zagubionych pośród lasu, resztki piwnic i zabudowań gospodarczych. Fundamenty porasta mech, czasami trudno zorientować się gdzie kiedyś mieszkali ludzie.

The name of the village comes from the inn benches - in 1800 there was a settlement with an inn here. In 1959, when the Kampinos National Park was established, there were 71 villages in its area. In 1975, a decision was taken to make voluntary buyouts at state expense and by the end of 2005, 80% of the land had been bought out. What remains of the displaced villages and settlements are the foundations of houses, the remains of cellars and crooked fences. Nature is now naturally invading these areas, overgrowing the places where people once lived. In some places, especially on former farmland, a forest has been planted. Often, nature has proved so vigorous that it is difficult to find the remains of some settlements. There are quite a few ghost villages in Kampinos, most of which are not on maps, their names having been taken over by the surrounding wildernesses, reserves and trails. The village of Ławy had about 160 inhabitants in 41 farms before the buyouts. Today, what remains are a few small houses lost in the forest, the remains of cellars and outbuildings. The foundations are overgrown with moss and it is sometimes difficult to see where people once lived.
