Dr Anshu Singla’s life journey is a powerful story of transformation from simplicity to extraordinary impact. Born and raised in Mohali, Punjab, she lived a sheltered life, rarely stepping out without her parents and finding joy only in books and family visits. But one incident during her medical internship changed everything. When she witnessed the tragic death of a young woman with 80% burns, a victim not of an accident but of cruelty, she realised that being a doctor was not enough. To fight such social evils, she needed to step into leadership.

Encouraged by her father, she prepared for the Civil Services. Despite failing her first attempt, she analysed her mistakes, rebuilt her strategy, and cracked UPSC in her second attempt with an All India Rank of 139, becoming an IPS officer in the Haryana cadre in 2014.

Her career brought many challenges: saving teenagers from the Blue Whale game, managing oxygen shortages during COVID-19, preventing panic during crises, and ensuring fast-track justice in sensitive crime cases. Each experience reinforced her belief in compassion, resilience, and duty.

Dr Anshu Singla’s story proves that with determination and empathy, one can serve not only as a professional but as a true nation-builder.
