M&R Vacuum System for Renegade, Eclipse or Patriot Press Models: How it works and problem solving.

Описание: This is a typical vacuum hold-down system on a M&R Renegade (Regular, XL or LS), Eclipse or Patriot Press. How it works: Center position is the no vacuum zone, left is vacuum hold-down and right is blow back meaning substrate gets blown up momentarily for the take-off to pull the sheet off bed. The cycle usually starts from center (no vacuum and loading material onto bed, then when printhead down the swing arm goes to the left to vacuum hold material down to bed, then when printhead finishing printing and goes up swing arm goes all the way to the right momentarily and blows material up so take-off pulls sheet. Then back to center and starts over.

Problem 1: Vacuum hold-down is on when printhead is up. The 3 phase electrical wiring to the press is out of rotation. Switch the 2 low voltage wires to change vacuum motor rotation. Have your electrician or qualified worker do this with all breakers off. Be careful. Check if vacuum hold-down is engaged when printhead is down now.

Problem 2: Intermittently the vacuum hold-down will not swing usually because the mac valve is bad or more commonly the top cylinder (left) has gone bad with air pass through problems and will work sometimes. Very frustrating because it works while watching then doesn't when printing. Same for the bottom cylinder. Also check the omron cube relay if it has a led indicator. Be careful not to put too much pressure on the cylinders or you will shear off the 2 welded pins on the swing arm which is a disaster.

This is overly complicated means to control the vacuum for the press. It works well until it doesn't.
