Welcome to the Minneapolis North Bay Ry - YouTube Channel.
The Channel is for those interested in: Model Railroads, Railroads or Other Transportation Topics.
The model railroad videos are usually showing what railfans would see if they were out Train Watching on a typical day.
Most of these Videos are done on the Minneapolis & North Bay Ry layout that is down in the basement.
The model railroad is done at the Basic Level for scenery and detail. The primary purpose of the layout is to operate with the Doug Smith Car Card System as described in Model Railroader Magazine in November 1961.
Over 500 formal Group Operating Sessions have been done on the layout since 1978.
The YouTube channel also is for those planning or building a Model Railroad – to provide some ideas of things to include or NOT include on the Layout.
One or two Videos are added each week.
Each video is about 10 minutes in length.

The ore boats would bring coal from Ohio and unload it in Duluth
The ore boats would then take iron ore back to Ohio
so the ships were operating loaded both directions
