Описание: Ok, This song composed by Lonomusic features some of my fav Molokai cowboy or Paniolo. There are many others, Puggy Dudoit, Jules Dudoit, Joe Raphael, Fred DeMello Sr., Jr. Place (RIP) and many others I grew up observing these paniolo from before dawn till after sunset. "Cowboyʻs work is never done", as dad used to say. Raised on 14K acres with 7200 head of cattle was quite a task for the cowboys, their wives and children. My dad who was ranch manager would tag us kids with some of these cowboys for the day and teach us to be Paniolo. Work was hard and long for little shrimps, but we loved our dad and did what he said. Ranch life was the life.
Only 2 ppl in this song are still currently with us, most I grew up with are long gone. The rodeos at the Kawela arena was a lot of work to do for us kids, but as a kid I won my first Barrel race, got a trophy and some money so was all in. Most of the girls were better cowboys than me, so I was happy I won something at least. I wish I could thank them all at this stage however this song for them will have to do. When I visit the grave yard is Kapaʻakea I see most of them there. Great cowboys of Molokaʻi. I miss them, so I write this song, Imua Molokaʻi Paniolo, forward with the cowboys of Molokai. Today the young cowboys are still at it when I see them at the Stampede Rodeo at the 10mi. marker east, Kamaloo. When they fire out of the shoot for the rope and daly it brings back all the memories of the past. To them and all Paniolo of Hawaii, Ikua, Archie and Ben, we honor.
