Описание: The Battle of Batoche was the decisive battle of Canada's North-West Rebellion, pitting Canadian forces against indigenous and Métis people under Louis Riel. Fought from May 9 - 12, 1885, at Batoche, the greater numbers and superior firepower of the Canadians defeated the rebels. Riel surrendered on May 15, Cree Chief Poundmaker on May 26. The song "Batoche," by Connie Kaldor, tells the story through the eyes of Gabriel Dumont, Riel's general.
