Launched in 1939 as the SS America, this luxury liner sailed through decades of history before her final chapter. In 1994, while under tow, a storm snapped her lines and left her adrift. She ran aground on Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands — and within 48 hours, relentless waves broke the ship in two.
The wreck stood for years as a haunting landmark, until the ocean gradually consumed her. Today, only scattered remnants remain of the once-proud liner.
