I was overdue for a proper mountain mission, so I loaded up my pack and headed into the Canterbury high country to ride one of New Zealand’s most special alpine backcountry loops.
This trip took me out to Lake Lyndon, up into remote alpine terrain, and all the way to a summit camp under clear skies. After a night on top, I rolled out at first light and dropped into unreal riding conditions.
These are the rides that remind me why I love doing this, pushing into wild places, slowing things down, and soaking it all up.
