This is the true story of Shonali Mukherji a resident of Dhanbad. Shonali was a brilliant student, a talented dancer and a beautiful girl. She had a dream to pursue the PhD degree, as she belonged to a small town. But it was not there in her destiny. She was attacked by her neighbourhood boys with acid. She had 70% burns on her face and upper part of the body. There were rare chances of her survival but she survived. Because she had to fight against this heinous crime. She fought her case and when she realized that she was getting injustice, she appealed the court for mercy killing. Then the whole nation awakens, the media came into power. The issue was highlighted and she got some helping hands. She was referred to Delhi for her advance surgeries. Luckily when her news story got published in the media, a reporter of Punjab Kesari Newspaper in Delhi helped them to get shelter at Gurudwara Sarojini Nagar. Now she stays at the Gurudwara with her father and she is getting her advance surgeries in a private hospital of Delhi. But this is not so easy as it seems. She lost her eye sight during this accident. Doctors are doing their best to get her vision back. The Jharkhand government has promised to give her job as she gets well. But this is all up to the almighty. We pray the almighty that she get her eyes back and for a healthy life. We must salute the will power of such a brave women who not only fought her life against this crime and raised her voice for similar victims. Now she has become a source of inspiration for other such victims. The film was directed by Assistant Professor Jitendra Singh and his team of students which included Shrawan Kumar Sengar, Rahul Sharma & Jagannath Sharma etc. The film was produced by Mangalayatan University Aligarh in 2013.
