Exploring old New England Homesites and Gristmill Ruins

We hiked 6 miles in the Hinesburg Town Forest. We followed the abandoned section of Economuo Rd and continued to the abandoned section of Hayden Hill Rd. Using a topographic map of area from the 1920’s we searched for the old homesites that would have been left behind when the roads were abandoned. We managed to locate 2 sites but most of the footage from the hike was lost.
Luckily we found a surprise location! Then we headed to location number 2. The ruins of the Dow & Boynton Woolen Mill in Hinesburg. The mill was destroyed by fire in 1868.
