The Eckerd College Search and Rescue Team (EC-SAR) is the only college maritime rescue team in the country. The highly trained group of student volunteers works closely with the U.S. Coast Guard, 911 Emergency Medical Response and other state and local agencies to respond to more than 500 maritime distress calls per year.
