Use a table to find the number of days between 2 dates.

Here is a table listing the number of each day of the year. The 1st column and the last column lists the day of the month, and then the columns in between list the months of the year.

To find the number of a specific date, say March 22nd, you go to the day of the month column, down to number 22, and then go over to the March column, and that number is 81. So, March 22nd is the 81st day of the year.
If you want to know how many days from one date to another, and the days are in the same year, you find the number of the target or end day in the table and subtract the number of the beginning day, or start day from it.

For example, let’s say that it is July 14th and we want to know how many days till Christmas, December 25th.

We first find the number of the end day, December 25th, and in the table that number is 359. Next, we find the number of the start day, July 14, and in the table that number is 195.

So, using our formula we have 359 minus 195, which equals 164 days. So, there are 164 days till Christmas from July 14th.

If the days are not in the same year, the formula is a little different. It is 365, the total number of days in the year, minus the number of the start day, plus the number of the end day.

As an example, how many days is it from September 12th to February 14th? Since these days are not in the same year, we will use the formula just discussed. The number for September 12th is 255, and the number for February 14th is 45. Using the formula, we have 365 minus 255 plus 45. And this calculates to 155 days.
