Today, we're looking at Humphrey Product Company's mini-bit cylinders. The company says these are arguably the smallest square-bodied cylinders on the market today. And I will agree that they're pretty darn small! They are short in length and very thin, as you can see.
These cylinders are designed for extremely small and light pneumatic movements, while using a minimal amount of air consumption per cycle. Four bore sizes are available, from 4.5 to 10 mm. And strokes are offered up to 20mm in length. The cylinder with the smallest bore size has an overall width of less than 1/4-in. These are 41% shorter than the company's Multi-mount cylinders, and they also feature a reduction in total volume of 67%.
The mini-bit cylinders are available in single- and double-acting versions, and as standard or sensor switch bodies. And there's a clean room-compatible version offered as well, which has a vacuum port to isolate the piston rod contaminant from the environment.
