This is a new painting I’ve been working on in the studio. It’s really about color relationships and how different shapes start to feel like they’re having a conversation with each other. I’m using a lot of hot pink, acid greens, and blues — colors that push and pull against one another.
I like that moment when something almost feels recognizable and then slips back into abstraction. There’s a lot of editing in this piece — covering things up, bringing them back, letting the painting tell me what it needs. It’s playful, a little strange, and definitely rooted in process.
