The Sydney Metro first opened in 2019. But…its story really begins a decade earlier. In the late 2000s, NSW had three premiers in three years - Morris Iemma, Nathan Rees, Kristina Keneally. Each wanted their own rail plan; with devestating consequences. This is a story filled with ambition and promise, a story that eventually descended into chaos, that ruined an entire government and very nearly derailed Sydney’s public transport forever.
