In this video I attempt to explain how to easily connect bright LED strip lights to you model for very little money.
I've seen kits on the web to add strips of different coloured LEDs to your model and they are very expensive for something that is very easy to make. You can simply make custom LED rigs to light your model in the way you want.
If you want to know more about the Turnigy RC switch you can watch • Turnigy R/C Switch - Use for LEDs, landing...
Apologies in advance the couple of times that the focus goes - bear with it, it does come back!
In this video I cover:
• What the LEDs look like on a model
• What the different numbers mean
• Waterproof?
• How to connect to wires
• How to attach to the model
• How to wire into the existing models power
• How to wire it so they can be turned on and off from your transmitter
• How much current a 10cm strip draws from the battery
To find the switch I refer to to control the LEDs search for 'Turnigy Receiver Controlled Switch'.
The LED rolls can be bought cheaply (less than £8 each) from a number of vendors on eBay. Be aware that the 5050 size of LEDs makes the overall strip slightly wider than the 3528 size.
For your information the 10cm LED strip with the small flying lead I made in this video weighed 3.7 grams.
Thanks for watching. Please comment and subscribe.
Happy flying!
