There are a lot of great opportunities at the moment for painters and decorators within construction jobs. A typical working day may involve a variety of different tasks.
On the job you will often be:
stripping and cleaning the surface to be painted and filling any holes or cracks before priming
removing old coatings with solvents, heat, sanding, wire brushing or water and sandblasting
matching specified colours by using pre-mixed paints or mixing colour pigment, oil and thinning and drying additives
using brushes, rollers or spray guns to apply liquid coatings such as paint, stain or varnish to surfaces of wood, metal, brick, concrete, plaster, stucco or stone
