ナムコ SYSTEMⅡの第一回目です。

SYSTEMⅡは割と高音質なPCM音源が多用出来るので、サンプリングされたストリングスでゴージャスなサウンドになっているのが特徴です。

それに対しPCエンジンの内蔵音源やFM音源は、ストリングスの音の再現は苦手、と言うか無理なので苦戦は必須。それに加えてドラムもサンプリングした音で分厚くなっているので、リズム面でもかなりの差があります。

戦闘力に例えるとSYSTEMⅡがナッパで、PCエンジンがチャオズ、メガドライブが天津飯と言った所か。

自爆しても勝てない相手にどう戦うかが今回の見所です。




●ドラゴンセイバー　PCエンジン
リズムインしてからのイントロのストリングスのリフが印象的です。PCエンジンはピッチベンドとディレイと言った、オリジナルとは違った方向で表現していて素晴らしいですね。オリジナルよりメロディーが太いのも特徴的です。
リズムはPCエンジンもサンプリングで鳴らしているので、サンプリングレートは低いものの迫力がありますね。ハイハットが欲しかった所ですが。


●フェリオス　メガドライブ
ストリングスのパートをFM音源のブラスっぽい音で再現していますね。メガドラ単体で聴くとやや迫力不足ですが、アーケード版と交互に流すと違和感無く繋がったので、良アレンジかと思います。

●ワルキューレの伝説
これもリードのストリングスが特徴的な曲です。PCエンジンはフィルターの開きぎみにしてザラつかせた音で再現しています。PCエンジンだとこの方法がベストだと思います。素晴らしいアレンジです。

●マーベルランド　メガドライブ
テンポが速く音もちょい軽いので、更にコミカルに聴こえますが、クオリティーは高いです。ハープシコードの再現は見送った様ですね。

●バーニングフォース　メガドライブ
これも原曲に比べテンポが速いですね。スネアも軽いのでやや落ち着きのないサウンドになってますが、良アレンジだと思います。メロディーの音色はかなり近いですね。

This is the first installment of Namco SYSTEM II.

SYSTEM II can use many PCM sound sources with relatively high sound quality, so it is characterized by its gorgeous sound with sampled strings.

On the other hand, the built-in sound source of the PC engine and the FM sound source are not good at reproducing the sound of strings, so it is necessary to struggle. In addition to that, the drums are thicker with sampled sounds, so there is a considerable difference in terms of rhythm.

In terms of fighting power, SYSTEM II is Nappa, PC Engine is Chaozu, and Mega Drive is Tenshinhan.

The highlight of this time is how to fight against an opponent who cannot win even if he blows himself up.


●Dragon Saber PC Engine
The string riff in the intro after rhythm in is impressive. The PC engine expresses pitch bend and delay in a different direction than the original, which is wonderful. It also has a thicker melody than the original.
The rhythm is also sampled by the PC engine, so although the sampling rate is low, it's powerful. I wanted a hi-hat.


●PHELIOS Mega Drive
The strings part is reproduced with the brass-like sound of the FM sound source. If you listen to megadrama alone, it's a little lacking in power, but when you play it alternately with the arcade version, it's connected without any discomfort, so I think it's a good arrangement.


●The Legend of Valkyrie
This song is also characterized by lead strings. The PC engine is reproduced with a rough sound by opening the filter slightly. I think this method is the best for PC Engine. It's a wonderful arrangement.

●Marvel Land Mega Drive
The tempo is fast and the sound is a little light, so it sounds more comical, but the quality is high. It seems that the reproduction of the harpsichord has been postponed.

●Burning Force Mega Drive
The tempo is also faster than the original song. The snare is also light, so it sounds a little restless, but I think it's a good arrangement.
