In today's weather update, we discuss the latest Southwest Monsoon progress across India, the possible formation of a Low Pressure Area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal, and its potential intensification into a Depression.

According to the latest weather guidance, a Low Pressure Area is likely to form near the Odisha–West Bengal coast around 3 July, with a possibility of strengthening into a Depression by 5 July. The system is expected to move inland across eastern and central India, bringing widespread heavy to extremely heavy rainfall over several states.

Meanwhile, the West Coast is also expected to witness an active monsoon phase, with the possibility of extremely heavy rainfall over Mumbai, Konkan-Goa and South Gujarat. Localized waterlogging and flooding may develop in vulnerable low-lying areas.
