Cycling around China, finally arriving in Dali. Staying at a budget guesthouse for 25¥ a day during the off-season, I relaxed for a week with fellow motorcyclists. The ancient town was just steps away—circling Erhai Lake, strolling through the old city, and visiting roadside fortune tellers. The commercial vibe was thick, with frequent encounters of artistic young folks. People came and went, but the city walls remained the same, and so did Erhai Lake.
