In today’s edition, we shine a spotlight on Sirri Emelda — a dedicated activist committed to gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and response, sexual and reproductive rights, adolescent empowerment, psychosocial support, and project management.
Her passion for this work is deeply rooted in her childhood, where she witnessed a community that remained indifferent to cases of abuse. Today, Sirri channels that experience into purpose, helping young boys and girls build confidence, understand their identity, and use their voices fearlessly.
She is equally committed to strengthening parent–child relationships—moving beyond basic communication to meaningful conversations that foster trust. Sirri advocates for safer homes and communities where children can confidently report any form of assault and receive immediate support.
Her message is clear and powerful:
“We must move from simply ratifying conventions to implementing concrete actions that transform lives. Your voice is a tool that dismantles patterns of abuse.”
