I set off from Pearston on the way to Cradock via the direct gravel road, in the Eastern Cape, in South Africa. The day starts pleasantly, but then, the climb turns out to be a nightmare on this remote part of the Karoo.
After struggling a lot to get my trike up the pass, I reach a beautiful farm area in the middle of the mountains, and I am welcomed in a farm that is used to hosting the participants of the Freedom challenge, an epic mountain bike race across South Africa. This country is really wonderful.
