a. Carrier wire gauge (shooter vs twisted pair)
b. Bridge wire gauge (32 vs 36)
c. Number of wraps in the bridge wire (3 vs 4)
An iPhone was set to slow-mo mode (240.37 frames per second), which works out to 0.00416 seconds per frame. A paper with a grid pattern was used as a backdrop for a reference to evaluate flame travel.
In these tests, the nichrome bridge wire was soldered to the carrier wire. The igniter wire was energized with a 12V cordless drill battery pack to an AeroTech launch controller.
