During the period in which Studio Massa was attempting to pitch Ongezellig, a network based in Tianjin expressed interest but explained that a number of edits would need to be made to better appeal to Chinese audiences (e.g., adjusting the appearance of certain "aesthetically displeasing" characters) and to get around censorship restrictions. The deal ultimately fell through in spite of heavy edits made by both Massa and the network, and as of yet only this short segment remains of the Chinese pilot.
