Responsibilities and Tasks:

Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef
Inspect kitchens and food service areas
Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment
Manage kitchen operations
This job requires a skilled cook with experience in preparing and cooking meals in a restaurant, catering firm, or café setting. The cook will be responsible for preparing complete meals or individual dishes, as well as special meals for patients as instructed by a dietitian or chef. They will also be responsible for inspecting kitchens and food service areas, training staff, maintaining inventory and records, and managing kitchen operations. The job requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in cooking and an other trades certificate or diploma, or equivalent experience. The salary range is $17.00 to $18.00 hourly for 40 hours per week, with permanent employment offered.
