THE INSPIRATION BEHIND
Vidhya Sagar Women's College(affiliated to the University of Madras) at Chengalpattu in Tamil Nadu, is a landmark educational initiative founded in July, 2005. Inspired by the ideals of Shri Iswar Chandra Vidhya Sagar (1820-1891), Shri Jainmal Surana nurtured a dream to found a college exclusively for women belonging to disadvantaged communities in and around Chengalpattu. Shri Hastimal Surana carried forward the mission and accomplished his father's cherished dream. Today, the younger scions of the family have dedicated themselves to the causes espoused by their noble ancestors.

Vidhya Sagar Women's College (VSWC), an arts & science college, is a solid testimony to the idea that great visions can always materialize with fervent actions.
