From early Concord grapes that helped launch the state’s juice and wine industries to the research of Dr. Walter Clore, Washington’s climate and innovation shaped it into a premier wine-growing region. Today, the state is the second-largest wine producer in the country, with both juice and wine grapes continuing to play a vital role in its agricultural legacy.
