Car production in South Korea's auto industry fell in 2017, compared to the previous year.
According to data compiled by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy,… a two-point-seven percent fall in production was recorded compared to a year earlier, after strike action led to fewer working days.
Domestic sales, including imported vehicles, edged down one-point-eight percent on-year to nearly one-point-eight-million units.
The number of vehicles shipped overseas also dropped by three-point-five percent,… but the value of vehicle exports rose three-point-nine percent on-year.
By region, sales in North America and Middle East dropped six-point-two percent and twelve-point-seven percent respectively, while sales surged by more than 50 percent in Eastern Europe.
