We get SO many questions about baby poop — use this video as a guide for what is “normal” when it comes to your baby’s stool! (And of course, any questions about your baby’s poop or digestion should be directed to their pediatrician):
Common poop textures in formula-fed infants:
1. Liquidy, yellow stool (sometimes with white “seeds”)
2. Peanut butter stool: Often brown or green-ish
3. Formed, soft stool
4. Hard, pellet-like stool: Small, formed, “rabbit-pellet” type stools
Other poop red flags to bring up to your child’s doc? Blood in the stool, unnatural stool color (black, red, or white), lingering diarrhea after a GI bug (which can indicate temporary lactose intolerance), and any significant changes in what you typically see in your baby’s diaper without explanation.
