The discussion was: Colin Moore, professor of political science at UH Manoa, helps us understand how racism, intolerance, isolationism and nationalism are being weaponized at federal and state levels; why and in what ways the Trump administration has been promoting and justifying that phenomenon; why and the extent to which the American public supports it; how it affects our political landscape and democracy; and what can be done to return to greater tolerance in our country.

The takeaway was: The racist orders and actions coming out of Washington are having increasingly toxic affects on American principles and American life. We need to study these effects and consider whether they are appropriate for our form of government and our society, and what, if anything, can be done to return to tolerance.
