Bishop's Pumpkin Farm: World's Largest U-Pick Patch

Описание: Join us as we visit Bishop’s Pumpkin Farm in Wheatland to find the perfect pumpkin in the world’s largest U-Pick pumpkin patch, followed by a relaxing campout at Camp Far West Lake.

Our day started with the tractor-pulled hayride that takes you deep into the massive fields to hunt for pumpkins. Afterward, we grabbed some food, got lost in the corn maze and took a stroll through the sunflower fields. Between the BPF Railroad train, the massive Coyote Mountain slides, many play structures and the adorable animals at the Weeland Petting Zoo, there is truly something for every age.

After we finished up at the farm, we made the quick 15-to-20-minute drive just eight miles down the road to camp at Camp Far West Lake. This 2,000-acre reservoir is known for its 29 miles of shoreline and its history as the final stop on the immigrant trail before the 49ers reached the Sacramento Valley. While it is a popular spot for boating and fishing for bass and catfish, you will notice in the video that the water levels are currently quite low. This exposes a lot of the rocky shoreline, so if you're planning a visit late in the year, definitely bring some sturdy water shoes and be prepared for a bit of a hike down to the water’s edge. Even with the low water, the sunrises/sunsets over the lake are absolutely worth the trip.
