Day 1 of my Disney Fantasy cruise vlog: embarkation from Southampton. We start at the VOCO Southampton (quick look at the room and view) before heading to Horizon Cruise Terminal. It’s my first ever cruise and Gary’s too, so we arrive early, a bit unsure what to expect but very excited. Despite being complete first-timers, we managed Boarding Group 12 with a Port Arrival Time of 12:00—plenty of time to get on, breathe it all in and explore.

After that classic welcome where they announce your name, we step aboard and head straight to the Deck 4 promenade to get our bearings. From there, it’s a first look at some adult-only spaces—The Tube, Skyline Lounge and O’Gills Pub—then over to the kids’ clubs where Gary can’t resist jumping on one of the Star Wars games.

Lunch is at a very busy Cabanas. It’s buffet style, the choice is broad, and yes, we go back for seconds. Soon after, our stateroom (7054) is ready: a veranda room on Deck 7 with space to exhale before the muster drill.

Sail-away is the moment—cameras out, party on deck, and those iconic Disney horns ringing out as we glide from Southampton, smooth as butter. In the evening we catch the brilliant Aladdin in the Walt Disney Theatre, enjoy dinner at Animator’s Palate, then find a rare quiet window to browse the shops before calling it.
