This webinar reveals the details and results of an innovative and unique partnership program being delivered in Far North Queensland.
Cairns Regional Council is supporting the Queensland Department of Housing to deliver a targeted campaign in West Cairns to tackle unwanted breeding, behavioural problems such as barking and wandering, and dog attacks. The program targets social housing properties in the Southern half of the suburb of Manoora. Both levels of Government recognise that a proactive multi‐agency solution is required that focuses on effective engagement and protecting the people and the environment in which we live, and helping to break the cycle of euthanasia of healthy and adoptable animals.
The program is running over a 3-year period with three components being implemented from August 2019. The initiative will; provide targeted education to support residents to effectively manage their pet’s health and welfare, monitor dog numbers and movements, use chemical desexing to prevent unwanted litters and therefore manage the dog population, vaccinate dogs to improve their health and reduce the spread of disease and parasites.
Hear directly from the leaders who developed and are delivering this program.
