This hardware unit comparison was recorded with a splitter for the ukulele bass and wah guitar. Both preamps also passed through a Burl B2 DAC and Tube Tech LCA 2A compressor.
This was at about 45db gain. For another demo of these two preamps with ukulele and ukulele bass at 70db gain with the pad engaged you can listen here. It's hard to hear any difference unless you download the wav file. Editing the WAV files, I preferred the slightly thicker sound of the 1073. The 1801 has a bit more clarity.
