**FUN** How to Catch Ballyhoo From Shore! | How To Hook BALLYHOO | Fishing in Hawaii

Описание: In this video, I'll show you a FUN and effective way to hooking Ballyhoo from Shore. Did I mention that its FUN?! Grab yourself a loaf of bread, some Shrimp and have a great time catching Bait! I use Bread for an attractant and a piece of cut shrimp as bait.

Hooking Tips:
Cast your baited hook in the direction of the schooling Ballyhoo. Try casting a bit further than the schooling fish just so the bobber won't startle the fishes. Slowly reel in bobber towards fish and wait 5-10 seconds. Reel in a few cranks and wait another 5-10 seconds. Continue process as needed or unless hooked. Make sure to watch for any abnormal movement from the bobber. Its more than likely you got a bite. Hope that helps.

My set up Consist of a 6' Shimano Pole and Shimano Fishing Reel. Mainline consist of 6lb test mono, Wood Floater, 5' of 4lb Fluorocarbon Leader and a size 16 AH hook.
For this theory to work properly... you will need the winds to be headed offshore. The wind will take the bread out into Ballyhoo territory. It sometimes takes over an hour for the Ballyhoo's to start showing up. Don't forget to keep chumming between bites to keep Ballyhoo feeding. Patients is key to this type of fishing. Now to grab your kids and catch you some fish! Have fun everyone!

The fish Ballyhoo is also known as (Sayori) here in Hawaii and Japan. I personally use it for bait to catch bigger fish but it is also consumed as well. Consuming this fish comes with a little risk tho, so eat at your own discretion. Ballyhoo along with Most reef fish sometimes contains a Toxin called Ciguatera.
