Many people in the world love parrots because of their beautiful colors and imitations of sound. There are about 400 species of parrots in the world. Parrots of many of these species have further mutations and variations. Among the types of parrots, some small parrots called lovebirds are very popular because of their beautiful acts and colors. The lovebirds belong to the genus Agapornis and are found in 9 different species in the world, eight of which are found on the African mainland and one on the island of Madagascar.

One of the reasons they are called lovebirds is that they form a pair for life. They do not make a new pair until one of the member of the couple dies. In today's video we will learn about these 9 species of lovebirds and their further types.
