Born from the union of different ethnic groups, classes and genres in the city of Philadelphia in the early 70s and led by the famous duo Kenneth Gamble & Leon Huff (founders of the PIR), it is a fresh, cheerful and carefree sound, moved by large orchestras and enviable voices, in the name of universal love and civil commitment, a symbol of social aggregation.
It comes from a mix of R&B, soul and funky music and flows into the disco even before it was defined as disco.
All the USA and most of the globe in those years sang and romped in the dance halls with this new sound that was destined to become one of the most innovative currents of afro-american music.
