What’s the immersive Pink Floyd experience in the Dali Museum dome like?

Описание: ST. PETERSBURG — Pink Floyd has invaded the Dalí Dome.

After the success of the Dalí Alive 360° debut last year, the Dalí Museum is sharing a second immersive experience in its futuristic dome: A 42-minute long, multi-sensory journey through the entirety of Pink Floyd’s “The Dark Side of the Moon.” It’s a fitting anniversary present for the album’s 50th year.

Each song is played in surround sound, with a cascade of extraterrestrial images that envelop the viewer. There are dancing lasers, swirls of stars and plenty of Pink Floyd prisms.

The result is a cross between a planetarium show and a music video — blown up on a giant screen that wraps all around and above you.

“Our inspiration for the dome really comes from Dalí,” said Beth Bell, marketing director of The Dalí Museum. “He created environmental installations, like he did at the 1939 World’s Fair in New York. He worked with fashion designers. He collaborated in different areas.”

During the show, visitors can soak it all in from a chair, walk around the curve of the dome or lie on the carpet and watch the colors melt overhead. The museum’s Café Gala will also be open on the evenings of the experience, featuring a special menu to correspond with the record.
