Blacksmithing : Forging a Nail

Описание: I am sharing the process of hand forging small nails, using traditional methods of blacksmithing, side draft forge and stone coal. Forging nails may seem like a simple task, although it may turn into a great workout, if you need a bunch of them. I love this meditating repetitive process though.

To forge small nails I use round steel bars, approximately 6mm in diameter. Blacksmithing techniques: drawing, hot cutting, upsetting / shaping a nail head.

The tools are: anvil, hammer, hardy chisels, nail header, blacksmith's tongs.. No power hammer needed for this project.

Hope that this video could be helpful for blacksmith enthusiasts as well as for craft loving community or just any person interested in how metal craft is made!
