Today I'm streaming IRL from in Japan!!
It's the first IRL stream of 2026!
And today the first thing I want to get done is my first visit to a Shrine!
This is a tradition for Japanese people, and I haven't visited a shrine yet so it will be my first visit of the New Year on stream!
This is called Hatsumode in Japanese
It also snowed last night! It was really pretty, but it also means it's very cold now
Unfortunately most of the snow melted straight away, so it's not a snowy day today
There are also some New Year's festivals happening today, including a cool one in Roppongi that has taiko drums, dancing, and even live mochi making!
So I'll head over there and see if we can catch some of the festivities
Today will be a fun day exploring Tokyo for the first time in 2026!
