This thing almost made me like AKs (Meridian Defense Corp. MDC-AK-101)

Описание: Have had a couple import underfolders (WASR and SA85M), and was never a fan of them. For some reason, the Meridian caught my eye when it was first announced (maybe because it wasn't an import so there was a chance the front sight would not be canted) and managed to grab one from the second batch.

Had the plan right away to make it an AKS-74 style gun, so as soon as I got it I threw on a Russian triangle stock, Polish Bakelite grip and the Polish laminate wood handguards you see in the video.

For the mags, bought a handful of 5.45 Bakelite mags, and a bunch of East German polymer 5.45 mags, and then bought a bunch of 5.56 followers for 5.45 mags. While some of the mags have trouble rocking into the gun smoothly, the basic 3D printed 5.56 followers worked surprisingly well, with the only issue being that they got pretty sticky in the Bakelite mags, leading to the couple of failures seen in the video towards the end of the mag. Cleaning and lubing up the mags will likely solve those issues.

I have since thrown on a GP25 buttpad for some cushion and increase the LOP slightly, and replaced the Polish bits with Izhmash wood and Bakelite. Not sure if I want to throw on an optic or keep this clean look, but if I do it will definitely be an older combloc style one.
