Keir Starmer insists the UK-US “special relationship” is still working and that Britain is sharing intelligence 24/7 with America, after Donald Trump publicly criticised him for hesitating over US strikes on Iran.
Starmer says he initially refused US access to UK bases, then approved limited “defensive” action after Iran hit targets across the region. He’s also sending more military support, including extra Typhoon jets to Qatar, as Britons try to get home amid flight chaos.
He says 4,000+ people have returned from the UAE on commercial flights and 140,000 Britons have registered their presence in the region.
