Freehanding Half-Gaps Completely Unassisted

What's novel about this technique?
It allows the builder to freehand half-gaps with/without floorstacking, on different terrain, without having to do buildouts or build any other "guiding" blocks that decide where the builder should look and how far the builder reaches. It requires great attention to detail, however.
METHOD
The blocks are placed manually while paying close attention to where the half-gap "intersection" is. The allowed/disallowed (blue/red) half-gap intersection on the side of a square foundation is located by moving slowly away from it and then back towards it.
Once the closest allowed distance is located, the builder notes where that exact position is relative to the terrain. The builder then moves the block incrementally in quick "taps" (staccato) away from the first foundation.
As soon as placement is allowed and that position matches the earlier position in the terrain, the block is placed. The process can then be repeated. Moving too close (or too far away) from the original foundation after getting a "blue block" will screw up the placement along the other axis.
