The roundtable brought together scholars from varied backgrounds to share insights and challenge assumptions about democracy, helping to shape a broader, more inclusive understanding of its history, role and forms worldwide. It explored the diverse historical and contemporary contexts of democracy across the globe, emphasizing perspectives from regions such as Latin America, China, India, and the Muslim world. The conversation challenges traditional assumptions and fostered a broader understanding of democracy’s many forms and roles in global intellectual history.
