Making the Most Detailed Coin Ring Ever

Well the most detailed coin ring so far anyway! This ring was brainstormed over several weeks and even changed a few times as it was being made. The 2 alexandrites are really hard to photograph in order to show off the outrageous color change in different lighting. Sometimes they are teal, sometimes purple and under black light, bright glowing red. The stones on the sides of the ring are vvs forever one Moissanite. I would normally prefer diamonds but my client was adamant about these specific stones. And after seeing them in person I totally got it. Those stones shine like a crystal ball! I’ve never seen that kind of sparkle before (and I only buy nice diamonds lol) I wish that they looked as good in the video as they do in real life but that is also really hard to get on camera.

The inside ring engraving is one of my favorite parts of the entire process though. My last video was a study for this ring. Getting that kind of engraving on the inside of a ring would be challenging. But engraving it flat and then making it into a ring was a great solution. ( I wish I could take credit for it, but I saw j park, master engraver do it :)And the engraving on the sides of the ring was a cool addition with the scalloping from the stone setting being incorporated with the leaf design.

Overall I’m supremely grateful to an amazing client who was active and encouraging in designing this piece. It has to easily be my favorite 22k 1 oz gold eagle coin ring. I hope you guys enjoy seeing the process of bringing this one to life!
